Sniff, sniff?
« on: 2008, January 06, 06:16:10 pm »
Born.
Learned how a Human was supposed to act.
Survived a lot of metaphysical teenage stupidity.
Moved to San Francisco.
Got irritated/bored with large cities, and figured I could do better.
Joined the Air Force.
Met many interesting people, both Human and otherwise.
Came to Alaska for the first time in September '06, and discovered what it felt like to be 'home'.
Started asking myself the harder questions.

I'm fairly new to the furry/otherkin thing.  I've had friends who identified as other things for years, but somehow I didn't connect that possibility with myself.  Then I did some digging in the back of my brain and discovered that under the layers of socialization, military training, and geekdom...
I don't actually -think- like a Human.

Part of me is something with teeth and fur.  I can do a pretty good growl, and when presented with creatures significantly younger than me, I feel like making sure they've been washed and fed.  I'm wolfish in many ways, but some of my reflexes seem to be based on having claws, so I'm still figuring that part out.

Hello.

Yeah, I do that.  I've got a very odd perception of time.
I've been... deciding on a career change.  I like it here.

Also figured out that the claw reflex and some other stuff is a Panther.  But I'm still Wolfy.  So I'm like... both.
Which is funny in a way I won't be able to explain until I'm a civilian again.   ;)

Panther.
-This does explain why I cached my pinata candy in the branches of a pepper tree as a kid.

I'd narrowed it down to 'big cat', and then three people who didn't know each other told me I reminded them of a 'big black cat' or panther within like, a WEEK.  Fairly good clue.
The thing is, after pretending to be fully Human for this long I feel like a freshly released zoo animal.
I'm making this up as I go along.

Still... better late than never.

Well to begin with, I'm 28.  The acronym stands for 'YOUNG adult group', right?

Second, I am not about to screw with the laws of my military 'pack' less than two months before I separate.  I don't always agree with the rules they make, but I do respect the fact that I agreed to follow them.

Third, I understand that !yaG is sponsored by a (albeit wonderfully open-minded) Christian Church.
I'm not even monotheistic, let alone Christian.

If none of the above bugs you guys, I may look you up in a month or two.

second: the church is no long affiliated in any way and never really directed it anyhow.

third: some people that attend are in the military others were previously.

no one is gonna have issues with any of your post.

Meowmix,
Young Adults Group maybe be what it stands for. But that does not mean we discrimanate agaist age. LOL. Crimison comes. hell I host and i am 26. Basicaly I ask that you be young at heart and I will let you in. Because it's about having a good time, and finding new friends, while learning "hopefully" something new. LOL>

How would it screw with the laws of the Military?

!yaG has absolutly nothing to do with christian churchs. We are swonsored by me and others who wish to donate there time to the event. But nope none of it bothers me. And would be glad to have you here. We do have people from the service that attend.

Glad to be of Service.
