Yeah, I've had that feeling before...When I was young, I gave a little boy my last egg at an Easter egg hunt.

And as for someone doing something for me...I always feel happy when someone comes to hear me sing.

Do you feel a connection with those people when that happens?

Professionally I help people when they don't know where else to go. It's a great feeling when I can walk away having restored their world to a sense of normalcy for a little while.
Personally, the last time I felt that warm connection was last night making a good appreciated meal for my partner, and last weekend carrying a heavy load of Costco groceries to my older friend's second floor condo...

I think that every time you speak to a person. You connect to them on one level or another. Some times a very close level other times more of a passing hi level. Though no matter what I think there is a connection made

What about the connection with your chooses God?
What is that?
Glad to be of Service.

I get that feeling when I translate for someone who is struggling to speak either Japanese or English.  On the job I get that feeling when I go out of my way to do something nice for a customer I don't know.  Once a reservation did not hand off from a travel agency computer to the airline I was working for.  My passengers were changing planes in Seattle and couldn't get on their New York flight as it was overbooked.  I gave them two seats in first class round trip.  They were grateful, but I felt it was the only thing I could do.  It still felt warm and good.

Without connection to others, I begin to lose touch with sanity.  Honestly, I do.  I can understand why chimps who are separated from their peers go nuts.  I am frustrated now because I can't seem to open up my life more to others.  I want to connect but don't seem to possess certain basic skills that allow me to do so, or I am just so darn happy to wallow in my own self pity that I can't connect.

Anyway, what keeps driving me forward to connect is the remembrance of the times when I was still able to do so, and how good that felt.  Like, I used to volunteer down at the Mary Conrad center on holidays helping to serve the dinners and sitting down to talk to the seniors.  Yeah, warm  fuzzy and happy and alive.

When I prayer, I am asking for answers.  Strangely enough, I am most likely to find answers to my human problems from other humans.  Even though I am 99.9% like the chimpanzee, flinging poo at others in frustration does not seem to me to be a good answer to dealing with my emotional turmoil.  Reading the stories of human in the bible who seemed to share my flaws of character and yet continue to be loved by God does help.  Being next to a live human being and giving them comfort or whatever is even better.
