That's pretty much how the conversation with Oni went, actually.  We both agree that the whole furry/yiffy/fursuit thing is childish, but you know what?  It's okay to be childish sometimes.

:( now you ruined my happy moment.

Y you always so mean TMAK? :P
I'm not like Oni, im not so good at ppl bein mean to me :s

I agree that certain aspects are childish >.> But hell, if it makes me feel more whole as a preson, and gives more purpose to my life, why not?
I'd rather keep my inner child alive and well, than be a shrivelled up old prune some day :P

Oh ya I will agree that Furry is Childish. But I do also agree that It's ok to be childish. I have actually had some one refuse to speak to me because he found out I was furry. When asked why. He said I was childish, and a grown up should not act that way.
To witch I responded. "Time and place for everything." LOL I would not wear my ears paws and tail into work. That would just be a bad idea. On Halloween I might get away with it, but NOT on regular days. LOL.

Glad to be of Service.

Bumped for All furry and non-furry people on and off this site. For all those that wish to ask me questions...PLEASE read this first. It is not that I don't mind answering them. It's just it is simpler to read this and post your response to this. Instead of me repeating myself to 20 people. LOL.

Oh and please note. That yesh a few people have called me Master, The Furry Know it all of Up North. *But I do not know everything. And I can not tell you if you are furry. Only you can know that.

*Note - That will be one of the few times you hear me admitting publicly that I do not know everything. LOL.
Glad to be of Service.

Uh...we did get you fixed, man.  A couple weeks ago when you were passed out from the effects of combining your pain meds with alcohol.  It was the perfect opportunity, so we took advantage of it. ;D

I disappear for awhile and bam I good topic. (getting off track BTW)
I have been hauled off to Bethel incase anyone missed me

Anyway I had to chime in

I got into the furry fandom in 1996. I use to role play my char Blaze alot. I found I didn't have the time nor care to hang out in chat rooms once I got out into the world. Now I just draw furries and write furry novels. Okay now a small rant. I don't think furries are how I remember them. It's kinda trendy now and I hate trends... (okay I've been guilty a time or two.) I found the fandom via my bro, back then he went by kumba. He's since pulled back from the furry limelight. He's rather annoyed with it now as well. I think it's become a place for emo deprested young wiper snappers....Not to say I don't still enjoy some of it though. When I jumped on the wagon it seemed to me a place for role players and a large percentage were gay males. The ratio went gaymen, straightmen and then females, the category of young was kinda small too (young= under 20). Also I am kinda annoyed by the invation of sonic, pokemon and animie cat girls. Being a traditionalist I consider non of these furry. Here I should clarify I do see them as anthro. I actually use to enjoyed sonic and pokemon and I watch some animie usually the ones with anthros...I always felt Furrydom had a hint of realism. Furries usualy manifest a piece of that side into their real life. Through action or feelings, it's a way to view the world. I do like to associate myself with cats because I feel I have some of their tendency. However it is pretty obvious I am human. like it or not....Still I remain a fur just as I am a biologist and an american. It's an association with a group. Often I find I miss what furry started out as, but time moves on. BTW I've heard the fandom stretchs back to the 70's. Incase you are intersted I've been associated with furries since Furnation had less then one hundred artist. Furtopia had just lauched and the popular archive was VCL. Also I am proud of it and I try to explain it to anyone who asks. I don't wear fur suits, but that's cause I don't want to pay someone to make mine. I'd love to go to furrycons, but I have too much else to spend money and time on. Plus Denver didn't have one until a few years ago. Last I checked we still needed to shift into gear for an Alaskan one.

That link didn't seem to work... All I found said something about april11th. A little late notice for me though. We should do a mailing list or something to remind people of gatherings.
