Heh I'm totally up for anything. If we did manage to swing one it'd really put to shame that "Furthest North" con held in southern Alberta.

How many people could conceivably show up? I'd say 10 would be optimistic, and we'd be lucky to get a single artist. (I know of 2 people who do fur art in the state)

So what would 10 furs getting together do for fun? that's  the tough one. I think trying to emulate the activities of a   big con would be silly with so few people. Best bet would be for an outdoors type get together. BBQ on a beach somewhere or something. You just run the risk then of having people getting out of the way to make plans to get to said beach (And a lot of furs here live waaay outside of Anchorage), and then its ruined by weather. Its not going to be a big enough deal to draw in furs who live more then an hour drive away from Anchorage for the most part.
(I'm just assuming it'd be in Anchorage as that'd be the most convenient place on average for people to group up at)

What about Mini Golf at the Castle on OlMalley? And then we can go some were for food, and since the Castle is right by the Zoo we could go to the zoo (though I would not recoment full on fursuiting at the zoo....maybe paws ears and tail...but that would be about it for the zoo.
Glad to be of Service.

I think Badinage's idea is better. It would be easier to just pay for food rather than admission to some place. And besides, with less distraction I bet everyone could get to know each other better.

hee thanks.

If I can convince my friend to bring some juggling torches down from Fairbanks then I can provide the entertainment.
(Who hasnt secretly dreamed about getting to see a juggler accidentally catch his tail on fire at some point.....?)

I think it would be best to leave beer out of these kinds of things.

Um, OK. Didn't really sound like "a shot at" anyone.

I think it would be great to get some thing started in Alaska some place. I know I would rather drive a few hours instead of a few days.

What are your guy's idea's for a con?

Should we just do a General Alaska Picnic as a start? Or what?
Glad to be of Service.

Sounds good to me. For Locale, I am still very partial to beaches but...the lagoon/park place just out of downtown maybe? (I forget what its called) and its kinda a beach. I'd rather get out of Anchorage though.

Picnic, fire if possible, some furry contest or such....? Also it would be awesome if we could get a couple artists to do free or paid work for people who want something done on the spot.(From experience, one of the funnest things at a furcon is to get a conbadge made ^ ^ ) Be up for that maybe Rosa? I know someone else to ask too.

for food I (had) a sams club card, think I'm going to have to renew it. May switch to Costco since I'm in ANchorage now.

Whatever you do please wait until I'm back up there so I can paticipate D:

Might be a good idea just to start small and work up. I don't know if there's general get-togethers (GT's) but an outside barbecue wouldn't be hard to put together at all. I cook, so given the materials a barbecue would be easy enough to do.

Maybe work up a date for it and a place, get together with whoever shows up and just go from there? Once it gets 'known' and- honestly, since I've never met more than I think 3 of you- we get to know each other, a bigger thing will be easier.

Well, I wouldn't consider it a convention, it would be more like a meet or a mini-meet since there don't seem to be too many people on board with it.

Good luck though.
