Hence like saying

"Big Lutheran Manorial Day Picnic"

I wouldn't want to go because I am not Lutheran. ME personaly I understand that everyone one is welcome...BUT...the PC and general idea of it is....it's exclusive to just lutheran's.

The point that everyone is trying to make here is that it 'sounds' exclusive, not inclusive.  The poster doesn't even say anything like 'Bring your family and friends'.  Those that aren't familiar with the picnic might not understand it's for everyone.

I agree, and I see the point people are trying to make---it was poorly advertised, but as I have no leadership role in the Imperial Court at this time, there's really very little I can do to rectify how they chose to advertise the event.  I CAN let them know there were concerns about how the event was promoted, and make suggestions on how to improve our "allied friends" turnout in the future.

The PROBLEM I have with the thread is that like so many things I encounter on a day to day basis, when someone asks a question and you give them an answer, it never suffices to end the issue..."well, I know you SAY it's open to everyone, but the poster says...".  I say get over it...at this point EVERYONE in this forum is put on notice that unless you're going with the intent of disrupting the event, you're invited to the Annual Memorial Day Picnic on Monday May 26th at Kincaid Park.

Eh, you're right.  I shouldn't have brought it up.  I understand how you feel about an answer not ending an issue, but really we were just having fun discussing it.  There wasn't a problem that we were trying to solve or anything, just a topic brought out for free discussion - so I just don't see an issue to be ended with an answer, but I often don't see things the same way others do.  So, I apologize for bringing it up.

*rubs eyes*  I'm going to bed now.

No offense ment to you hun....But with any event being put on. Unless otherwise mentioned...the only thing I can say to that is...

DUH

This thread (being the creator of it) had nothing to do with the way it was advertised.

It was the IDEA. Would you as a gay person go to (and support) a "straight pride" event? Or would you feel the event itself insulting and more harmful?

Maybe that's not my entire point, but I suppose the subtleties of my point was lost.

Oni...what subtleties?  You're about as subtle as a shotgun.
