Straight Pride
« on: 2008, May 22, 10:05:29 am »
Breeders of the world Unite. I say all straight people should get out there and be proud of who they are. Let's join together and host a parade and march down 5th Avenue waving flags of Male/Female Pride. Our Women at our sides in wearing just enough fabric to make it legal, mean while the men can OOOGLE there Goodies, and try and entice the women to breed with them.

Show your pride and your relationships. Make sure you flash it to the world and show everybody that you wont hide who you are, no matter how much they may make fun of you for it. Show them that you like the opposite sex. Hold hands with your b/g-friend, kiss them, hug them. Don't be ashamed of you lifestyle.

Make sure that if you have a child you use it to rub in everyone face what you and your other did to make that kid. Take you kid out in public, take them shopping with you, take them to fair, and the Saturday market.

Because when people see you and your mate with your kid they will KNOW what you did to make it and who you are.

Breeder's of the world stand up and be proud of who you are.

Ya it's kinda obscure to think of a Strait Pride day or even a Strait Pride Parade.

What do you all think of the idea?

Anchorage has a Main Street?  Since when?

I'm not taking you seriously until you make an effort to spell it correctly. ~.~

I can't really say I care much for making a "Pride" event out of my heterosexuality.  There may be a few people who have been persecuted for being straight, but I'm not one of them.

Then again, I don't really count as a "breeder," either.  I mean, Oni's technically a "breeder" and he's not straight.

This actually rose out of the discussion that took place over in the gay Memorial Day picnic thread.  Oni's just trying to piss as many people off as possible, which is quid pro quo for him.   ::)

Rachael, Oni is actually bi.  Don't believe me?  Take him out to the mall simetime and start pointing pretty girls out to him, then watch him rubberneck. ;D

I would like to correct Mr. TM here on something. Though he is correct in the fact that I can admire women, and say "damn she is hot" or "Look at the rack on that one" It is simply admiration, it is not a sexual attraction. I don't get aroused by them.
No granted I will admit that Boobies are fricken cool, they make the best pillows in the world. LOL

Although I am not going to argue wither I am gay or bi with anyone, I have been through this discussion with my sister and found that there is no point to it. People are going to believe what they want.

The point of this thread is not really to piss people off....Though I am aware that might happen.

Think about it though. How many gay people would be upset that there is a straight pride event going on? Would you attend and support your straight friends, or would you be all upset that they are rubbing it in your face?

Even at work and at home with TM, when When there is discussions bout significant others, and my opinion is asked. I chime in. Now I tend to judge the situation to decided if I am going to give Fox a name, a sex, or just use adverbs. So I don't find it as they are rubbing there straightness in my face, cause I do not think they are doing it intentional, not if done intentionally .... well I can play that game as well as the next.
Glad to be of Service.

You just put your hetero half in the closet when you let the gay half out, Oni.  ;D  It's still there, you just deny it access to the feminine booty that it craves.

What Oni is really trying to do here is an exercise to educate himself about the feelings of gay people, including himself.  He's trying to get you to think about it: if you, being gay, have no problem with organizing or participating in a "Gay Pride" parade or other event, how would you feel if others organized and participated in "Hetero Pride" events?  The idea is to put yourself in the other shoes and see how they feel, if only for a moment.

I draw the line at actually organizing and possibly even participating such events.  Much more hassle than I'm willing to undertake.  Oni dinged me for that in MSN messages, but what he tends to forget is that we "breeders" have children in our lives that often require our full-time undivided attention, and such sexual-preference-focused events aren't exactly considered to be "kid-friendly" by the general public (I personally have no problem with educating young children about sex because I feel that such a practice builds responsible adults, but I'm in the minority there).

Next weekend there will be a Str8 pride ralley.  I have a friend that is getting married... to a girl... that will be in two weeks, but next weekend is the 'bachelor and bachelorette' party...  a truely gawdy display of hetro sexuality.  Str8 pride is celebrated in public every weekend here in Anchorage, and around the world.

I suppose that mostly counts, except that bachelor parties are not very inclusive.

You know, I'm not opposed to ANYONE saying they're proud to be who or what they are, but when you're part of a group that's consistently treated as a less important segment of the US population than people who aren't even CITIZENS, "pride week" is an entirely different animal.  When Gay and Lesbian and transgendered and transsexual Americans are allowed to marry their partners and reap the same benefits that heterosexuals do, then I'll oppose gay pride, because distinctions will essentially be eliminated.  Same thing applies to Job protections and the elim ination of the landlords right to evict you if he/she disagrees with homosexuality.  Unless and until those things happen, this debate about "Straight Pride" is the height of hubris.

Exactly.  If I wanted to, I could pull a Britney Spears, grab some random boozer off the street, and if he agreed to it, we could go to the nearest courthouse and get married in a matter of hours.  Then, the next day, we can get divorced.  True, there's a lot of stigma attached to taking marriage so lightly, but it's still perfectly legal.

I find it demeaning that homosexuals are denied the right to marry if they choose.  It demotes them to second-class citizens in the eyes of the law.  Aside from religion, there is no reason people should not be allowed to marry those of the same sex.  None.  Crime isn't going to go up, people are still going to have children, and we're not going to suddenly drop what we're doing and have one big gay orgy all across the country.  People will go on with their lives, like they have in other countries where same-sex marriage was legalized, and it will become a non-issue.
