an Alaskan Rock Battle

Me and My band mates were messing around on our way to Germany once, on a refueling on the way home. we had a great idea to put together an AK Band Battle. I just got a ring from my band mates saying that we really should do this. so. anyone wanna help out?

brainstorming is helpful.
 we have a few locations we are allowed to play at. Sullivan arena. wasilla's new sports complex,  behind wonderland park in wasilla.

just need more coordination. sign ups. possible dates. all that

Huh, didn't realize this was just a brainstorm right now.  I wonder if my brother would be interested?  Wait, no, he couldn't do it.  He's going to Portland in the fall, and his band's pretty much broken up now, since everyone has gone their separate ways.

I'm only going to say this once, because I know I'll probably get nuked for it:

Alaska doesn't have a music scene.  Okay?  This is the reason why all of the successful Alaskan bands and singers move to places like Seattle and Los Angeles.

Not to be a pessimist, but your chances of getting more than 3 decent rock bands together for a "battle of the bands" type event are pretty darn slim.

Funny I know from personal experiance it can be done with the country bands up here. I have done it before for a fund raiser for a friend of mine.

COUNTRY music, yes easily.  There are plenty of amateur country music performers up here.  Rock bands, not so easy.

Actualy you'd be suprised!. i have a list of bands whov told me its possible! my fav 36 crazyfists, theory of hate, woodrow(rockabilly) , element 47, canislupis, even some non local bands want to hit it up!

trying to convince (and leaning towards yes): disturbed, linkin park, mastodon, and i think Billy Talent wasn't up to much lately either.

also My Band! (with an ever changing name) The Ashes Will Fall. and im sure well change it again soon.  Banner and Dates are soon to be released!

UPDATE!!! so now i can tell you SOME things (they be twisting my arm on what i can and cant say! so there is gonna be two sections (the rock off groups) and then some groups that are major bands. i can tell you that the top 5 finalists will go to Germany to compete in a major rock off for glamor and fans! few bands to come up here. Disturbed, the white stripes (i know after what they pulled last time im pissed at em to but they aint bailing here.), linkin park, the offspring, and  for all you hardcore metal fans (you better thank me for this!) DETHKLOK  will be flown up here under a few circumstances. #1 being that when tickets go on salil they better get sold out. *rock fist* you didnt hear this (official until added onto) list from meh!
