Wynonna at Elmendorf 6/27, 7 p.m.

Wynonna Judd is here for a free concert at Elmendorf AFB, as the kickoff for “We’re In” Weekend, the main Anchorage events for  Alaska’s 50th Anniversary of Statehood Celebration . The Arctic Thunderbirds Air Show is 6/28 & 6/29 at Elmendorf.

June 27, 2009 “ALASKA’S OPERATION GRATITUDE,” featuring Wynonna Judd and family at the Elmendorf AFB at 7:00pm.

If anyone has anymore information on this or a flyer please do let me know so that it can be posted here.

ALASKA'S OPERATION GRATITUDE, ALASKA'S CONCERT FOR THE MILITARY

This event is free and is open to the public.

Concert information:
4:30 p.m. -- Gates open to public
-- Parking available at Fort Richardson for people living north of the base
-- Free Parking available on Elmendorf; Boniface and Government Hill Gates will be the only access gates. People entering Government Hill will be directed to park at Hangar 5 and take the free shuttle to the show grounds.
6:45 p.m. -- U.S. Air Force Academy Wings of Blue jump in to concert to begin event
7 p.m. -- Concert begins inside of Hangar 2
-- U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific and U.S. Air Force Band of the Reserve open for Wynonna
10 p.m. -- Alaska 50th Statehood Celebration bonfire
11 p.m. -- Event ends; gates close

NOTE: There will be a standing room only area, which begins at the stage inside Hangar 2 and extends 50 feet outside of the hangar. There is a designated area for people who bring blankets and chairs to the concert. Blankets and chairs will not be allow in standing-room only area.

Anchorage bowl residents should expect a possible smoke plume coming from the Elmendorf flight line area during the bonfire.

*People who attend the concert will not be allowed to see the static display aircraft up close. The aircraft will be roped off during the concert. All the same rules and regulations for Arctic Thunder apply to people attending the concert.
