Absence

I'm having lots of fun in Michigan.  However, it has come to my attention that things are happening in Alaska.  Furthermore, I'll be in Kenai until the end of the summer.  Then I'll be going to college in Anchorage for ONE semester before I graduate.

And what happens next?  I may never see any of you ever again.  I might end up somewhere I never imagined.  Who knows when I'll go to Japan?

I might decide to stay in Kenai.  I might meet someone and decide I'm going to live with him in Norway.  I might become an important Spanish-to-English translator in Costa Rica.

I know we've had some tough times, but I'm really going to miss all of you.  Well, not Jeffrey.  He's been a bit of a prick.  But I'll miss the rest of you.

Do you ever start thinking like this when you're away from home?  I always do.

I've found that time away generally causes me to reflect on how things are "at home" and what if anything I'd do to change them.

Oh well, at least I learned to appreciate Alaska a little more. I doubt that Luke and I will ever leave the state and I feel like I'm missing out on a lot already. Of course, to travel you need money and we don't have enough to go to Anchorage most of the time.

heh, I'm away from Alaska for an indeterminable time too, but you know what? I dont miss it. I only miss my friends I left behind there.

Just being in places so different, I'm happier then I've been in a long time. Then again I'm not working yet so it's kinda more of a vacation xD I'll probably feel different if I have to get a crummy job.

Meowmix. I am glad to hear you are happy hun. How has yoru trip been anyway. Any cool pics of fun and games you been up to? Or adventures that you have been on?

I took an hour-and-a-half walk.  Oh, and I saw rabbits!  They were so cute!  We're talking wild rabbits here, people.  There's this trail out back that goes on forever, it seems!  I don't ever want to get to the end of it because I just like to imagine that it really does go on forever, even though I know it terminates somewhere in Houghton.

But you can see chipmunks, birds, and of course, rabbits, because the trail is sandwiched between wooded areas!  There's nothing like that in my neighborhood.  Sometimes moose wander into it, and you can see ducks in the little creek behind the dorms in Anchorage, but that's about it.  I love Michigan.

Also, we got a flat tire and a windshield crack on our RENTAL car, and my grandmother on my dad's side was put into a nursing home.
