What's strange about me in Koots?  And is that short for something?

Uh...yeah.  Either Rachael doesn't live in Anchorage, or she lives a very sheltered life.  I thought most everyone over the age of 16 or so has at least heard of Chilkoot Charlie's.  Can't stand the place, myself, but I'm weird like that.  Having spent a lot of time in VFW bars with my grandfather, my idea of a bar is a nice quiet place where a man can enjoy his drink and not have to shout for his buddies to hear him speak.

I like Mike's Hard Lemonade. Lots of flavors, but I never understood why I got carded for buying soda...

I have YET to find a regular beer I actually like. Low alcoholic, mid alcoholic, high alcoholic, whatever. Closest is something like MGD. I think I've had one type of beer from TM's stash, I get stuff from the Moose's Tooth, but I dunno if it counts as beer soon as you add fruit to it...

And for the record, Koot's sucks.

I assume you're referring to Moose's Tooth Raspberry Wheat ale?  Yeah lol, that's still a beer.  Some hardcore brewers might disagree with me, but if the beverage contains water, malt, hops, and has been fermented by yeast...it's a beer.

Cheap beer is the only beer I like, make it fancy and it's ruined.

As for Koots, I love it, don't go often anymore but it's the only place where you can have so many different atmostpheres thru out one bar.  Of course, to me, drinking is totally a social event, if it's quiet I can't drink...

I thought it might stand for Chilkoot Charlie's, but I was afraid I'd sound stupid if I was wrong. :p I'm not that sheltered.

Hmmm, I guess I could try one of those, if it's not too expensive. You said they serve them at a place call Koots?  Oni, you simply must take me there some time. :)

BTW, I like what you've done with your avatar. :p

Rachael, you've tried the framboise stuff that TM is talking about before, although you probably don't remember.  Oni bought me a bottle back when we first moved into the old place we lived in and I shared it with you, Esther, and I believe Mary, one night while we were sitting around talking.

It's definitely good stuff.

When it comes to lambics, I definitely prefer Boon over Lindemans.  It's not as freakin sweet.

I remember the night you're talking about, I think, but did I like the drink, or was I just acting like I liked it because drinking alcohol was still new to me and I wanted to look cool?

I honestly can't remember if you liked it or even pretended to like it, lol.  Either way, it's good enough stuff that I'd suggest you try it again.  The brand that TM linked to is the stuff that tastes extra fruity, almost like a soda, so you might like those.  I like the stuff and I don't really care for beers at all.  Although this stuff doesn't even taste like a beer, so the comparison doesn't work too well, even if it actually is one.

That framboise stuff sounds really good. After reading all the posts about it, I wanna try it.
