2) (Anch) Anchorage Daily News Seeks Interviews About S/S
Benefits ...

I'm a reporter at the Anchorage Daily News working on a
story about the April 3 advisory vote on benefits for same
sex partners. I hope to profile a gay couple who would be
affected if the benefits are ultimately banned. I'd like to
feature an average couple, maybe people with a child or
two, who would be willing to share their lives with our
readers. The individuals would have to be willing to give
their names and have their picture in the paper.

The reason we are doing this is that most of the coverage
has dealt with the policy issue. That makes it seem like
the benefits don't impact anyone real. We want to tell the
story of how the issue affects regular people living real
lives.

If anyone is willing to be profiled or knows of someone who
fits this description, please contact me. If you have
questions, don't hesitate to ask.

The story would include both sides of the issue, but as I
envision it, the focus would be the couple's tale. I am out
of town March 17-25 but back in the office on March 26. The
story would run a few days before the election.

Also if anyone is working on a campaign to shape public
opinion before the vote, I'd like to speak to them as well.

Thank you in advance for hearing me out.

This is the final weekend for the performance of “The

News as a Don’t Miss play. It stars Shelly Wozniak, a
dedicated member of our community. Please support her and
this fine play as well. Here’s the info:

Think Monty Python meets Quentin Tarantino! Live, on
stage!!  Academy Award winner Martin McDonagh's New hit
play is the stunningly funny tale of a ruthless Irish
Nationalist Liberation Army enforcer and the one thing he
loves more than anything else in the whole world...his
little black cat- Wee Thomas. It is wickedly hilarious and
must be seen to be believed! ONCE YOU SEE IT- DON'T GIVE
AWAY THE ENDING! Come on out and support local
lesbian/thespian Shelly Wozniak as she wears a dress and
kisses boys in this unbelievably hilarious romp! Tickets

6) (Anch) Millinery Madness ...

Start making your Easter Bonnets for the return of

7) Big Wild Lesbians ...

Big Wild Lesbians. Yes, we are! And to show off our
wonderful selves, we are having a celebration, Celebration
of Change, on June 2 at the Wilda Marston Theatre. As
always, this all-grrl event is open to everyone in the
community, whether you are a seasoned performer or have
never been onstage. There are also lots of backstage and
hosting activities too. So if you sing, dance, act, write,
tell jokes, have secret talents or just want to meet girls,
please email Deb at deb.deprospero@gmail.com to get
involved. For inspiration, we will watch videos of past
celebrations (over 20 years worth) at the GLCCA on Sundays
leading up to the big event. We are also looking for
vendors; you can email Deb about that too.

8) (Anch) 4-A’s Needs Hair Care Professional ...

The Four A's (Alaskan AIDS Assistance Association) is in
need of a volunteer once a month for haircuts for our
clients. Our long time volunteer has moved out of state, so
if anyone has a Monday (or any other weekday) free once a
month and could provide this service (its tax deductible as
an in-kind donation!) please contact myself or Jon Benorden
our Volunteer Coordinator for more information.

Thank You!
