I'm new to Fairbanks (because of the army) and Wicca (always wanted to do this). I was wondering if I can meet with someone in fairbanks who can teach me a little about it. All I want to do is learn from someone who actually is Wiccan rather than trying to read it out of a book and hope that I'm doing things right.

My understanding is that therians (short for Therianthropes) are people who have some sort of spiritual beliefs connected to animals.  One belief that some hold is that they are actually animals in spirit, living in a human body.  I knew a couple years ago that were therians and they explained their beliefs to me, although I'm not going to go into details since it's personal stuff that only they should share.

There are similarities between furries and therians... kinda.  Some furries can be considered therians, whether they are aware of it or not, but not all therians are furries.  In fact, furries tend to have a bad reputation in some therian communities from what I hear, probably because not all furries take their beliefs seriously and can be disrespectful.  For example, a furry going to a therian forum, seeing people identifying as "werewolves" or something similar could be like "Hey, wanna yiff?" and that'd be equivalent to going to some church group, asking around for sex.

I used to have somewhat therian beliefs, but I've never been a very spiritual person so I kinda forgot about them.
