1) Celebration of Change Planning ...

Big Wild Lesbian is the theme of the 23rd annual Celebration of Change. The event will be June 9, 2007, at the Loussac Library, Wilda Marston Theater. We need all types of wild women with all types of extraordinary talents, including dancing, singing, comedy, poetry, drama, backstage volunteers and more. Celebration of Change is an all-women produced and performed show aimed to give Alaska women a venue to learn skills in event production and encourage their individual artistic talents. First time volunteers & performers encouraged to apply!

Performers and volunteers will meet noon-2 p.m. every Sunday leading up to the show, at the Gay & Lesbian center
(336 E. 5th Avenue) to rehearse and brainstorm and have fun.

There will be a Celebration Bazaar and Reception on location after the June event. Ladies interested in showcasing and selling their arts and crafts, books, musical CD's, etc. may reserve space at the Celebration Bazaar. Informational and non-profit organizations are also welcome. Fee is $25.
To sign up, email Deb DeProspero at

3) (Anch) G&L Center Tea Party ...

Come and meet the Queen!

High Tea will be held Saturday April 7th from 3-5 p.m. at GLCCA (336 East 5th Avenue, Anch).

We will have a selection of loose leaf teas as well as traditional British tea foods, such as scones and cream, fancy sandwiches, cakes, and more.

Bring your own tea cup and saucer, please (your hosts have only so many in their own cupboards to share, you know). Bring your prettiest teacup and see if you win the tea cup and saucer contest in!

Get tutored in appropriate curtseying and bowing for your presentation to the queen. You would not want her guards to think you are being disrespectful, would you?

Hats are encouraged and there will be a best hat/bonnet contest.  Costumes and formal wear optional.  Attitudes required.  Formal or foolish.  Fancy or fun.  All are welcome.

For the trailer trash Spam lovers amongst us, there will be a quiet showing a of Benny Hill or Monty Python movie in the corner.

The queen will be receiving guests down the long hall first door on the left.
