No one plays Halo? No one plays Gears of War? What!

Discuss, now.

Actually, I play both. It takes time to write up these long reviews and personal feelings for games, y'know? I personally own HALO 1 and 2, Gears of War 1 and 2, and Halo 3 ODST. I just haven't reviewed them yet.

It's not really about reviewing them..well, yes it is. What did you or didn't you like about the first Halo? We'll start from the beginning.

Halo 1 was way too easy. My brother and I picked it up for the first time and DESTROYED start-finish in a few hours. Story was a little dry, but about what I expected. I'm used to the more deep story driven aspects of RPGS, so more often than not I'm pretty critical on story lines. I liked the game itself, the premise was alright, and the multiplayer was lots of fun.

I liked the game, overall. Just a few things bothered me.

1. Alpha Base not being mentioned, just the survivors.
2. Jenkins, etc.
3. Zuka Zamamee, the SpecOps elite who tried to kill the Chief.

I agree with you though, the multiplayer was fun in some places, but not all. Like Sidewinder.

I was more concentrated on when your mom went down while we played, sorry. xD

Halo: Combat Evolved was okay from start to finish.
Halo 2 was eh, kind of lost the point of the game after the game switched to the Arbiter. Hated the lighting effects.
Halo 3 was more of an improvement, but not so much.
Halo 3: ODST was a no-no. I can't stand slow games like the beginning. I was okay with the different cutscenes with the guys who landed, but I didn't like trudging through a dark city getting shot at from above.

i personally like the combat at all times on odst but i really liked the new HUD and the visr that was cool.especially the new low light identification mode I'm kinda a nerd tho i like the weapons in odst too. see i thought 3 was a no no cause in the end doesn't every thing go BOOM!!!??? but i can't wait to play reach and still gotta get halo wars.

The VISR was okayish in ODST, helped in the low light. But when I was at NMPD HQ, I couldn't find the sniper rifle thing or whatever that beeping noise was, pissed me off cause I couldn't find it. I didn't mind Halo 3 in some parts because you could just hunker down and let the Covenant come to you, or flank from the behind. (Bow chika bow wow)

And getting the achievements suck! I'm trying to get the rocket on Kizingo Boulevard. How are you supposed to get 10 kills with two rockets?!

Get a whole bunch of peons to chase you around and outrun em, turn and fire?

I agree the VISR was more useful in ODST, especially in low light.

I haven't gotten around to regular HALO 3 cause it just seemed like more of the same. ODST at least had other stuff to do.

Eh, I guess so. It's hard for me to stay committed while I'm trying to find the Audiophiles.

I got a little over halfway when I finished the game. Got two more achievements after that and call it quits until later today
