Ah, the two most main stream Xbox franchises. I've played and beaten Halo 1. It was an excellent game, for sure. Gears of War 1 was extremely fun, but the narrative was very, very lacking. They infinitely improved that in Gears of War 2, because the story was laid out so well, so the narrative this time around was bloody excellent. The music in both games, especially the second one, was also phenomenal. Currently, I hold up Gears of War 2 as the best third person shooter ever made. Meanwhile, I think the Halo series is severely overrated.
