Fursuits and Raves

I made a journal similar to this on FA!

You know, I've heard that with fursuits, you are NEVER EVER supposed to go raving in them.  Why?  They could be messy and ruin your suit, and apparently, crazy drunk/drugged people will beat you up.  LOL.  Idk, that's just what I heard.

But I've always really wanted to go dancing in my fursuit.  The only fursuit-safe raves are at furry or anime conventions.  And even at furry cons, they have "fursuit friendly" and "non-fursuit friendly" raves/dances.  Idk why.  You'd think it'd all be fursuit friendly at a furcon but I guess some people just get too craazy.

I was just wondering if anyone ever wears their suits to raves?? 

If there's a group here that goes to raves, I might be super daring and try to wear my partial to one.  It'd be a lot safer knowing there'd be people to have my back.  I'd also call ahead of time and let people know I'd be wearing it.  For example, there's a no-mask rule at the mall... but if you call ahead of time and talk to security, they're normally okay with it.  Or so I'm told.

Yeah, this has just been a curiosity of mine for years, even before I had a fursuit.

I dont know if anyone has wore any to raves just yet.

Would be fun to go traveling the malls. I am still trying to get my suit finshed paid for. this economy is not the best.

Malls are kinda horrible... one of my friends got kicked out of Dimond center just for wearing a hat with a stud on it.  O__o

But it should be fine if it's a group and we call ahead of time. ^^  That would be fun~

I think if you got in touch with Big Gay Mike with ADK or Original-Theory (whoever was putting on the rave) and talked to them about it, they could talk to security.

The difference between raves here and raves in some of the lower 48 is that not all the raves are as heavily policed in other places as they are here - raves here are generally violence free (and pretty free of violent druggies/drunkards, because they get caught by security really quickly). I would say though, go with friends, and be prepared to leave if something happens, because the EDM scene isn't used to things like that quite yet.
