Fox: Mouse Slayer

Just had a really... entertaining moment a few minutes ago that I felt I needed to share.

Ever since the temperatures dropped last fall, we've had a few problems with mice in our house.  They live in the garage  and occasionally make their way into the actual house.  Luckily, with four cats in the house now, it's not really a problem for long when it does happen.

Anyways, our two cats, Spaz and Mistoffolees were stalking a bookshelf for about an hour.  I looked under it, didn't see anything, but apparently something was under there.  Eventually Mistoffolees pounced something and ran off to D'mitri's room, I assume now because he caught something and didn't want me to take it from him like I usually do.  I went to investigate, looking for a box or something to throw it in until I could... dispose of it.

When I walked in with a box, I saw it in Mistoffolees's mouth.  I'm not sure why but at that moment he felt it was necessary to drop it and of course it tried to run away.

Now I have to stop here and mention for a moment what I was wearing at the timeFor the most part I only wear the colorful pants I got off www.bewild.com, which are pretty loose and need to be tied off at the ankles.  I tend to keep mine tied sorta loose, so I can slip them off rather than untying them and needing to tie them every time I put them on.  This causes a small little pocket/pouch to form at the very end. ... Yeah, I'm sure you can all see where this is going now.

The mouse, in its escape from the cats, decided my pants looked like a safe enough place.  I didn't feel it at first (these things are small) and just noticed it disappeared.  Since I didn't see the cats dart out the door chasing after it, I had an idea of what happened.  Felt around at the bottoms of my pants and barely even noticed the squishy thing hiding out there until it squeaked ever so softly.  I jumped out of my pants faster than Oni has ever been able to take them off me.  I had to pick up and shake the pants a few times before the thing came out, not knowing that it wouldn't be moving when it did.  Apparently my squeezing to feel around the legs of my pants squished it to death.

The dead mouse has been disposed of, my pants are currently in the washer, and I still don't feel clean after getting out of the shower. :(

But at least I have an entertaining story to tell, lol.
