Google Chrome

Has anyone used Chrome very much?  I just installed it today to try it out since I have a problem with memory leaks in Firefox, so when I try to watch streaming video, it's often really choppy.  My memory leaks in Firefox are probably because of the Add-On I use to download video from pages... but I value that add-on too much to get rid of it, lol.

Anyways, so far I think I like it, it really is pretty efficient with its memory usage... although looking at my task manager right now, it's showing it as three separate processes which is kinda weird.

If you've used Chrome, what do you think about it?

No, I haven't used Chrome yet, mostly because I'm happy with Firefox.

I know it's not the topic, but what makes you think you've got memory leak problems with Firefox?  Is there a specific error or conditions which are causing crashes?

I use Chrome and I love it. When my computer crashed and I had to get a new browser I didn't even bother trying Mozilla again.

Honestly, I just like that you can "program" it. My friend Lily can type "Computer, define -word-" in her address bar and Chrome will put -word- into dictionary.com automatically. You can set your own shortcuts for things (google or whatever other search type engine you wanna use) and it's pretty fantastic. I think you can do it for wikipedia, too.

It doesn't seem to ever release most of the memory it takes up when opening a new tab, especially if the new tab contains stuff that uses a lot (streaming video, flash files, stuff like that).  It starts at around 150MB and eventually gets up to taking a full 1GB of memory before I have to kill it.

I'm sure my problem comes from Add-Ons I use more than the browser itself, but since I use Firefox because of the add-ons, I don't want to get rid of them, lol.  So for now, I may stick with Chrome for my general browsing, and use Firefox when I need certain add-ons (like swiping videos from YouTube, lol)

DownloadHelper version 4.7.3

I also use AdBlock Plus 1.1.3 and StumbleUpon 3.62 but I don't think those are the problems.

Yeah, I hear ya.  Have you done any of the about:config tweaks to it?  I find that some of those are good for plugging the Firefox 3.6 memory leaks.
