Transexuality - HELP! Female to male surgery....

Hello. I am one of those people who was 'born in the wrong body' I have always subconciously been a male... I fantasize about being a male and would rather much be one, for about six years now I have seriously been considering the surgery.. I still want to remain rather femine but change my sex... I have looked into it. I know there has got to be others here in AK that feel the same or perhaps have had the surgery. Any sort of informatin, tips help would be great. Such as, where do you go to get one? Price you may have paid? etc etc etc.... Thank you!

If you feel you need to have a sex change, there are somethings you need to get done before you can go under the knife.

First, you must have therapy. And I mean like you need to go talk to a therapist who can analyze what you're feeling - they'll need to know if you've been through any trauma (such as rape and molestation) in the past that make you feel you need to be the opposite gender.

You can only go through a sex change with a doctor's A-OK for one.

But please be aware that the doctor/therapist can say no to your sex change. If you doctor/therapist does not think you need one (i.e. does not find your reasons for having one to be sufficient) and doesn't give you a note for it to present to the surgeon, you will not be able to have your sex change.

However, if you do get approved for one, you'll have to start taking hormones for it before the operation. Then, once you've had a sufficient amount of pills for an extended period of time, you can go get the surgery.

Provided that you can afford both the medication and the operation, that is...

Thanks. I know about the whole therapy thing... and I had been sexually abused as a child, but that was AFTER I already found myself drawn out to females more... Hah, Try telling that to a therapist I know I know... *sigh* Ah well. I am probably just stuck being a female... I am DEFINATELY not made of money... XD who is?

It would probably be worth it minus the fact that surgery can be messed up, and to be truthful I don't want to take all the hormones... I want to stay a feminine male... If that makes sense.... Thank you all again!
