Furthia High and some thoughts on genetic tinkering
« on: 2011, January 08, 04:15:34 am »
Ok, so recently I finished reading the archives on a little furry web comic called Furthia High. Any fur who hasn't read this should at least check it out in my opinion. Its not bad.

So before I go further I must warn about spoilers. If you haven't yet read the comic and you don't want plotlines ruined for you, then turn back and don't look further.

Spoilers on Furthia High 1.0 and current start here:So in the back story of the original Furthia High the author brings up the origins of the furs in the story as being a fashion genetic mod that gained such popularity that within 20 generations normal humans have gone extinct. So my question is, if science could offer you gene manipulation to turn you into a true fur, would you do it? I honestly don't know if I would. Social stigmas what they are in the world... seems like it would be asking for too much trouble. Spoilers end.
So any thoughts from those that read the spoilers?

I have thought about this in many ways. And came to this conclusion.

If I could keep my job and still support my family. Hellz ya. If I could not support my family, then maybe just a easily hidable tail.
Glad to be of Service.

well, I believe the tail part isn't too far away. I recall reading about a plastic surgeon on the east coast who is supposedly researching the possibilities of a fully functional tail.

Oni's right. Naked dogs usually look diseased. Not good.
