Theri There
« on: 2011, July 12, 04:09:10 pm »
There is a pretty fascinating webcomic about phantom limbs and similar topics. I wandered by and I thought ya'll might like to check it out.

(Pun alert)
You should go there and check it out.
Don't get on my tail abut the noneducational comics.
(Yes, that was necessary :P)

I can relate and know some others who can as well. Considering that AKcommunity is overrun with furries I thought some other people would also be interested in the idea of phantom limbs and how they could be a real possibility.

EDIT: Haha, sorry forgot the link. http://therithere.comicgenesis.com/d/20050904.html

Also if you want to get to the really neat stuff, read past the first page and remember the text at the bottom tells a lot more too.

Psh, you should see the finished product. I am planning on getting the prosthetic and having a fursuiter do this but like a fox. And yes I have never seen better either.

I wonder how much one of those would go for? It's a pretty cool idea. Wouldn't mind getting my paws on one of those. Though I think it would look better on Fox.

Hehe, yay me! Fox tail looks better probably! Anyways prostetic is 150$ and once the fursuiter is done with it it goes for an extra 100$ or so. Totaling 250$ dollars roughly. I am planning on buying one.

Just a message from a bioengineering background...

Modern prosthetic are now connected to nerve ending and can actually follow original movement of the missing limb.

For limbs that were never there... I think you can connect it to the base of the spinal cord that way the natural "spasm" of the leg muscles can be translated as movement...

Nya... ne?
If I don't nom you I don't like you.

Haz u flavor?

Why not? There are nerves to give signals. When we were babies was the control of these signals not a new experience to us? Why not another learning experience. ON TO THE FUTURE, SUCH A PROCEDURE SHALL SUCCEED...  am I too enthusiastic? :P

Show me when it's been done by adding a tail to a human and I will go see a doc.

sup guys.

turns out that tail you gots vids of is my own creation.
^.^;;

thanks for the compliments, but there's some misunderstandings about it.

for 1, the tail skeleton is $250.
im not sure how much beatlecat charged for the furring.

 and 2
the furring in my opinion wasnt that good >.>

i mean it was great fur, just kept the tail from wagging by being so tightly filled...

other than that.

hello every one ^.^

Do you... like... stalk embedded videos of yours? He he, just kidding, hi. I could have swore I read 150$ like a month ago on that FA page on the you-tube link, oh well, I get confused a lot so this isn't anything new. -.-; Oh well, still going to try and get one in the next few years.

And yes it moves much much better without being super densely covered in fabric but it is still not dead dead like most. Maybe if the fur was more loosely attached?
