How many Cups of Sugar does it take to get to the moon?

 1 crystal of sugar = 0.5mm
2000000 average crystals = 1 cup
384000Km = Distance to Moon
384000000000=millimeters to moon

QED

(384000000000*2)/2000000=38400 cups of Sugar to get to the moon


What do you guys think of my math?

*note - I had the Math in my head Fox had to explain to me WHY it made it worked though.

1 very hyperactive cat
1 empty paper bag

The cat drinks the milk and becomes even more aigtated, you explode the paper bag behind the cat


The cat jumps to the moon!

Oni, I think the math was correct, but lets be honest, pretty easy...

The problem however would be that you can not get to the moon by means of a line of sugar.

Yet, with sugar we can. I propose the following:

- find out the energy stored in 1kg sugar
- find out the energy needed to leave the earth for 1kg of mass (to make it easy, at the aequator)
- maybe find out the energy needed to land 1kg mass on the moon

- now take your mass and tell me - how many kg sugar would you need to get / land on the moon.

One US cup of regular granulated sugar weighs 200 grams.

200 * 38400 = 7680000 grams
