So hi my name is Sammi im 20 years old and im trans, im currently not in alaska yet but i will be as of september the second  ill be living in fairbanks and i dont know anyone from around the area so if there are any nice furs that would love to get together for a meal or just to chat and have fun we totally should. Im pretty shy at first but once you get to know me im a blast

How are you. Glad to see you here. Kinda excited even. Would you mind if I asked "how" you are trans. I only ask because there are a few ways to identify as such. I think in a way I fall into that category, though that has been argued on both sides. Why are you going to Fairbanks? That's were I stole Fox from. There are a few Fairbanks furs on here. Though trust me they are not hard to find. Lot's furs up here are cool. It's Alaska! Largest state in the union and most of it Wildlife preserve. What better place to find furries...... Would be nice if they were closer together though.

So how did you decide on your fursona? Or Fall into the furry relm?

oh sorry, im transgendered...ive never thought of it as being descriptive of anything else, but im moving from WV and seriously ive only ever met all of 4 furries my entire life lol i love the wildlife so i cant wait to start going to the parks and doing some photography...as far as my fursona, the name just popped into my head haha and i love wolves so it was an obvious choice i think my ex stephen got me into being a furry when i was like 13. Ive always been a huge reader and he showed me a few stories and i was hooked, then came the art, furaffinity and i think you know the rest

As for choice of location, i really dont know haha i just picked a place...i think i ruled out Anchorage because i didnt think i wanted to live in the city but i really didnt have any reliable information on what people thought of the place. So i chose Fairbanks since it had a college and it seems to be a pretty large town without being too backwoods

"trans" generally refers to transgendered, but Cat likes to us his own meanings for words or abbreviations sometimes, even if he's the only one that would understand.   The "trans"-word he's referring to is probably transvestite... because he likes wearing womens' clothing sometimes (especially anything Hello Kitty).

Fairbanks huh?  I grew up there... had to get away when I got out of high school.   It's not a bad place if you can tolerate the weather, especially if you're an outdoors-y person.  I hate the typical outdoors activities like fishing, camping and skiing, so I had to leave Fairbanks.

If you plan on going to college, UAF is probably the best school in the state for most things.  I've heard UAF gets more funding than the other UA schools and is supposed to be pretty well-known for its Geology program or something, I dunno.

Fairbanks will probably be a good fit for you though, if you're not wanting to live "in the city."  When I lived there, a lot of the population was on the outer parts of town rather than everyone living in the middle of town or something, and there's plenty of outdoors-y stuff to do.  I don't think Fairbanks has too many parks... but that's probably because it just takes a short drive to get out of town and see wilderness anyways.

I LOOOOOOOOOVVVEEEE HELLO KITTY X3 i collect lol and have a tattoo, ill post it so he can see it its not that i didnt want to move to a big city though its just ive never lived in one and so its kinda scary to me...i went to cleveland ohio once for a mayday parade concert and frieked out cuz the buildings were HUGE lol im definitely a country girl. But at the same time i really dont want to miss out on all the socialization because that's  what i hate most about being in boring st. albans WV

Anchorage is "big" to me, because I grew up in Fairbanks, but I don't really think of it as a big city.  I don't really have anything to compare it to though since I haven't been outside the state very much, and most of that was when I was really young.

Wikipedia says Anchorage is only 100,000 people off from Cleveland... but it's definitely spread out a lot more, so I'm not really sure what you would think of it.  Very few really large buildings, and most of them are hotels downtown.

hmm well if things dont go so well in fairbanks i may consider anchorage...for now though im going to continue looking for a place to stay and a job in fairbanks so im not homeless lol...would be pretty crappy, and this is a stupid question im sure but my plane is supposed to arrive at 9:30pm will it be dark or still daylight out?
