Smoking
« on: 2007, May 18, 06:03:04 am »
How many people here have or still do smoke?
My question is, what is a good way to stop smoking?
How do you feel about smoking?
Are there any benifits to smoking?
Whats the difference between a natural tabbaco ciggerate, and a modern smoke, such as a camel, or marbro
Glad to be of Service.

I used to smoke.  ;D Hehehe.
Hmm, good way to stop smoking. Well, it differs person to person. Some can just stop and be fine, others would most likely need to gradually smoke less, while others just need some sort of other aid (like the patch, gum, etc.).
Lol, if you asked me this question about 4 years ago, I would have been very anti-smoking. At a point of my life, I was just like that. I was like that because my pappi have been smoking since the day I could remember and I had always hated it. However, now my views on smoking is different since I experienced it myself. Yes, one could say I have rebelled my parents and did the one thing I know they would be very unhappy with- smoking. I proud to say that my pappi quit smoking now for 2 months!!!!!
Are there any benefits to smoking… ummm… NO. To me, it’s a lose-lose game.  :-X
Eh, I am not knowledgeable to answer this part of your question.

Although I've never been a smoker, I imagine quitting smoking would be a lot like quitting any other addictive habit.  Probably the best way would be to wean yourself off of them by gradually doing it less and less until you no longer need to.  Well, that's if there's a physical dependancy attached to it.  If your body needs a cigarette, then it's probably best to gradually kick yourself from the habit.  If it's just a psychological thing and is nothing more than habit, it may work just as well to just kick yourself completely, all at once, by finding something else to take the place of the habitual smoking (Just hopefully not another addictive habit.)

I have an aunt that used to smoke, and when she decided to quit, she used to stick her cigarettes in the freezer.  Whenever she wanted to smoke, she said that she would take them out of the freezer and while waiting for them to thaw, take a walk.  By the time she'd get back, the urge would be gone and she'd just stick them back in the freezer.

I'm sure cigarettes have their benefits, like relieving stress and such, but there are definitely healthier solutions to that.  Exercise, for one, would relieve stress, and is healthy for you as well.  I think the negative affects of smoking outweigh the few benefits though.

I used to smoke.

I think a good way to stop is mind over matter, but that's just me.

I don't care if people want to smoke, just please, think of the children!

Sure there are benefits to smoking, if you want to have less money than smoke!

I hear that natural tobbaco cigs are actually less dangerous than other. Interesting.
