personally i look for something that has lyrics with a personl meening to me
or at least lyrics i can understand even if i havent a clue wat the song is about i make my own meening

i like music the flows with its lyrics if there are lyrics at all which is fine too

if the music doesnt flow smoothly i dont like it
if i cant understand wat the person is saying or if its just random screeming i dont like it

Finally, a topic about something other than sexuality or religion!

My favorite band is The Beatles, but I love all kinds of music.  I love foreign music a lot.  I've really been into buying world music CDs lately, as well as CDs by Japanese artists.  I like getting soundtracks to video games I like, and I have a CD by this awesome Japanese band called Ali Project.  I also like instrumental music.

I don't like artists that just sing about violence and sex and drug use.  I mean, an occasional reference is one thing, but I don't like songs that are all about that.  And I'm not into really loud rock, and definitely not shock rockers, like Marilyn Manson.

Other than that, though, I'm pretty easygoing.

Hmmm, what I look for in music. Well, guess it has to be something with a great beat/rhythm to dance to. I like music’s that I can escape to and enter my own world. Whether it is from classical, pop, reggeton, techno, rock, r&b, and/or heavy metal, I can listen to almost anything. The only exception to that rule is country. I personally despise country. I can’t really pin-point as to why I hate country music so. Maybe it was my sister forcing me to listen to it for about 4 years. *shrugs* I don’t know.

Rachael was right; it is nice responding to something other than sex and religion- LOL. Thanks for posting something completely different furry dude!

Yep I have to agree with Rachael. I am thankful for the new fresh topic and would like to invite others to create new and fresh topics. Or just post something they want to say.

mmm Musiak. I would say anything with a character of its own. I like a range. Not much clasical. I do love Mood Musiak, such as Pure Moods, Enigma, Enya, Dune, Trance, Techno, Country, Not so much Blues, Rock, Clasics, the list goes on. I am a child of the 80's so alot of my taistes stem from there. I miss the old rap, back when rap was good, before it was killing, and raping, and gang banging, back when it actually told a story, and sounded good at the same time. mmm Though Turtle Power, was a good song, ummm Sweet child of mine was one of my favorites till some darn video game killed it for me.

Primus, Pink Floyd. I have Country drilled into my blood since Child. I know most old school country songs by heart as I fell asleep listening to my parents practice.

I use Enigma when I need to zone out and go to my own place, and practice.

watch out for those darn ballons if you are practicing though.
Glad to be of Service.

My preference is  from  background music to actually listening to the words. For the most part i enjoy most anything but country, especialy the depressing stuff, screamer music where you cant hear what they are saying because either they are screaming or the music bed is smashing the vocal track.

My fave background is techno/trance, or pop/bubblegum music, eg. Aqua, Britney Spears, etc.

Country music is equivalent to a nail scrapping on a chalk board to me. It is something I just do not like to listen to. My older sister for a good 4 years forced me to listen to it. I think that is why I now hate it so much. However, there are very few country music I know and actually would sing to. IE God Bless Texas. I remember hearing that song when I was very little and could never forget.

Now for the whole “screaming” music, I actually enjoy listening to that! I have several CDs of it. The groups I listen to are Zao and Blood Brothers. I listen to them at work most of the time though. I mean, yes, I don’t know what they are saying; however, I like it. Besides, for me, it is a great way to release anger or when I am upset about something. The songs I can understand do have powerful messages. But ummm, yeah- LOL! So two thumbs up for the “screaming” music!!!!!  ;D

My problem with country music?  It puts me to sleep.  There are very few country songs that don't make me want to take a nap.

Anyways, the kind of music I like...  I used to be like a lot of other people, where I liked a large variety of music, with the exception of country and rap, but over the last few years, my tastes became more specific.  Mainly I like rock-ish music (that's the only way I can describe it, since I don't know the names of many sub-genres :P).  The groups I listen to most are Evanescence, Trapt, and Three Days Grace.  Occasionally I'll listen to System of a Down as well.  After that, there aren't many groups I like, usually just individual songs.

But like Rachael, I also enjoy Japanese music.  J-pop or J-rock I like, although more traditional, instrumental Japanese music can be interesting as well.  I also like instrumental stuff, depending on the instrument.  My favorites to listen to are the piano, violin and guitar, although the flute is kinda nice as well.  Most of the instrumental stuff I listen to is music from video games that I like, remixes of video game music, or occasionally some classical stuff.

I also like most music from DDR games that fits into any of those categories. :P  Bouncy, energetic music is great.

Oh, and some music from the 80s and 90s is good from time to time.  I mean, right now I'm listening to Aqua stuff. :P  It's bouncy~
