Well to clearify that Joke. I did know that person, but no moreso than an aquantance. I have been to a LAN party with him before...oh that was a good party.

One must also gadge there enviroment before pulling a joke of that nature, or of any nature. I judged the enviroment to be a correct one, with a low risk of "harrasing" or "pissing people off."

If say I went into Fridged North and did that everyday then ya that would be harrasement, or took it beyond a "harmless" joke. But I did not, I played out the joke, and went on my mary way.

How does chasing someone around with a dildo make them "think"?

Well, they think about what they should do? They think about if it is funny, anoying, irritable. If they should take the situation with the humor and good will that it was intended or if they should over react, and something that was clearly a joke. Makes them think of what they may do when they encounter the unexpected. Makes them wonder what is behind the motive. Makes them ask questions, and gets there mind moving, no matter the direction. As long as the mind is moving ... it is thinking ... and forming a plan of action.

The reactions very from people laughing, to people giving me a kiss on the cheek, to even people getting down right pissed off that i would do that. It is all there choice. But to those who get pissed, sooner or later they have to realize how much of a fool they made of them selfs, well getting mad at some one who is obisosly a fool themselfs.
Glad to be of Service.

Like I said...it all depends on the environment.  Yes, I can see why in your situation, it was a practical joke.  But if you went into Wal-mart and started waving it at a bunch of strangers, that would be harassment.

And just because someone thinks it's funny does not mean another person will.  I think we should respect that person.  If they get upset, it doesn't mean they're making a "fool" of themselves.  They most likely have a reason.

For instance, would you say someone getting upset over AIDS joke is making a fool of themselves?  Maybe, but then consider this: What if that person is HIV positive?  Maybe if you were in that situation, you'd be able to joke about that.  But that's not the case with everyone.  Different people deal with different things in different ways.

If you were chasing someone around with a stick or a rubber duckie, I wouldn't have mentioned anything.  But a sex toy is something different.  I'm sure whoever you chased knew you well enough to not freak out by it.  However, if the butt of your prank was someone who didn't know you, he/she wouldn't know if it had been used, how clean it was, etc.  It's like chasing someone around with a dead squirrel, or a tampon.  I know if someone I'd never seen before or didn't know too well started waving a dildo at me, I would freak out.  Not everyone sees that kind of thing as a harmless prank, and yes, I do believe you could be cited for harassment if they chose to press charges.

I'm only trying to say that there's more to pranks than whether or not someone has a sense of humor, and that it can be considered harassment when you play the wrong prank on the wrong person.
