Pets
« on: 2007, July 16, 10:29:47 am »
I have a question to all.
Pet's. No not the animal kind. but the Human kind. I know furries are famualer with the term, but I am sure others are as well.
So my questions are these.

What do you think a pet is?
What do you understand about pets?
Do you think it is ok to have a pet?
How should one treat a pet?
What is your responsibility as the pets owner(s)?
What is your responsibilities as the pet?
Do you think it is a good idea to have a pet?
What are pets for?
Should there be a type of loving relationship with a pet?
Should you make your pet do things, eg. Wear a collar so that others know that he/she belongs to you?
How much of the Pet belongs to you?
What type of pets are there?
I guess as much information as I can get from this would be very helpfull from both furries and non furries.

What I see when it comes to owning a “pet” is for sex. I see pet as the whole master/slave thing- the dominant and the submissive. Pet is just another way of wording it. Pet is the slave/submissive while the “owner” is the master/dominant one. So to that reference, depending on the owner/pet, a collar and leash would be worn. The owner should treat his/her pet as he/she wishes to.  A pet has no say (unless it is health threatening). I mean if one wanted to be a pet, then it is a given that some of their freedom sort to say will be taken away during sex. Again, I refer to owner/pet as to sex. Sure the owner/pet can play the role while not having sex; however, there are other ways to make them sexually aroused (by petting, bj, jacking off, etc).

First and for most, a pet is not actually the owners property. The pet is a person just like the owner, so each could bale out any time he/she wishes to. As for the relationship stand point, it should be what the owner/pet decides upon- every owner/pet has different levels of relationships. Discussing before hand is the best preventing action of any possible drama in the future. But be wary because there could a chance one of the other could develop feelings.

As for types of pets, I don’t. Guess, you can have a pet for only foreplay. And another pet for just sex.

Coming from the standpoint of being a pet/sub (prefer pet to sub). Pets are not necessarily just for sex or even sexual in nature. Quite a few pet/master relations involved some degree of dependency on the other. Some pets just get with a master to have that level of being controlled and freedom of not being in charge…. There are many reasons for a dominant person to take a pet. 1: The pet needs to be controlled. 2: The pet needs protection. 3: The pet is there.
There are many reasons a person becomes a pet 1: Quite often there is some history of family violence. 2: Sometimes you are just predisposed towards tucking you tail in and rolling over. 3. The pet needs a place to live 4: The pet needs attention 5: The pet wants something the master is willing to give for a price.
Do you think it is a good idea to have a pet?
If you have the stability to hold onto a pet/master relationship and not cause mental scaring on either side, they are very well to have.
Should you make your pet do things?
That comes down to the degree of relationship you have. (even friendship is a type of relationship when you break it down) Communication is needed in all decisions.
I probably have more on the subject but crazy night at work fuzzles the brain

Wow!!! My views on pets might piss someone off but I really care not. Why would one want to be a fucking pet. Come on now that's  just another way of enslaving someone.  Would I be someones pet? Hell no. I have been around some PETS and can't help but wonder what the hell is wrong with them.  Do they think it is ok to be known as a pet. I can't stand to hear..." I have a new Pet" or " I'm their new pet".  Come on people call it what it is you all enjoy sex and that's what you do majorioty of the time. I could see if you were to tell me the high points of being someones pet....Come on Ill give you chance to tell me....Give me one logical reason why being a so called pet is ok.  Maybe this subject pisses me off so much because it seems to me that neither of you have any morals or sense of self. You need to feel needed or waited so hey why not be someones pet. at least then I am noticed. Come on people get a life.  Pets are things that you feed water and put shelter over, not something you have sex with. Well maybe some of you sick-os would but really what's so damn hot about being a slave?

BDSM actually stands for:
Bondage and Discipline,
Domination and Submission, and
Sadism and Masochism

As for the whole "pet" thing, because of furries, I've never been to fond of the idea of "pets."  Especially since the furry community screws it all to hell.  For example, you can't be a pet to like, four "masters" and have six "pets" yourself.  People like that I feel just use the label of a relationship (which has no foundation to it other than just deciding to label yourself) so they feel "loved" (when they aren't really) or not feel useless.

I can understand taking care of someone, and calling them a "pet" in a way, but I would see it as more of a friendly nickname more than a label.  The only time the label "pet" really fits in anywhere appropriately would be in sex play, to talk about someone who chooses to submit to a "master" or "masters."  But that domination/submission doesn't really carry over outside the bedroom.

It's funny. I was just speaking to some one about pets. They told me that a pet is a S"lave with just a little more rights than a slave has. A slave can not say no to any order you give it, but  pet can, and suffer the concequesnces." And that they keep there pets through fear.

Any way, that conversation made me think of this thread.

Allow me to go down the questions.

What do you think a pet is?
A pet is an animal/person/fur that you choose to take care of and watch over, and that creature chooses follow you with loyality. A pet is a creature of free will and choice. It does not have to be anything sexual. Ya there can be sex play involved. But to point out something I said to the guy. You do not have to have sex with your dog for it to be your pet. As Crude as that is, and most likly bad word choice on my behalf, the point is there. Fox is right, Furries have really butchared the whole pet idea, and out side the furry community to many people think of it as in BDSM. I supose in my view point, (in a way not compleatly) a pet is like a Master/Student relationship. The student wants to follow the Master, and his teachings. In exchange for being a good student the master takes care of and teaches the student how to take care of them selfs. But during that time the student will also do as the Master says. Not in the Slave sense, but in the Respect sense.
I dont take the whole ordering the pet around to seriously unless I feel it is needed. Much like teaching a leason to a student.

Some people could argue that in our House. The Caretaker of the House is the Pet. She is the one that tends to the heads of the Houses needs, and does the little things around the house that some cats might be to lazy to do themselfs. LOL. I supose that in that arguement, she is a pet.

I supose the big difference between a pet and a slave is. A pet can leave when ever he/she wants.

What do you understand about pets?
Never being one my self I only understand what I have observed and listened to over the years.

Do you think it is ok to have a pet?
Only if you and the pet are ok with the idea, and there is a mutual understanding of respect for one another.

How should one treat a pet?
As you would a friend.

What is your responsibility as the pets owner(s)?
To take care of your pet duh! but also to teach them.

What is your responsibitlity as the pet?
To honor your master.

Do you think it is a good idea to have a pet?
If you are responsible enough and are willing. Then go for it.

What are pets for?
Same as students, but with more responibility.

Should there be a type of loving relationship with a pet?
At times. There should be some type of emotion, even if it is just friendship.

Should you make your pet do things, eg. Wear a collar so that others know that he/she belongs to you?
For me personaly...Yesh. I think that should be there. For me it is more a type of old school tradition. So that people know, and also as a type of protection to the pet. And from the pets perspective, honor to the master.

How much of the Pet belongs to you?
That is up to the pet and the master.

What type of pets are there?
Many types from sexual, to frienship, to master student, even lovers in some cases.

Well that's  my take on it for now. I am sure my opinions on it will change over time, and even with commucation with people. I do hope my thoughts came out right.
Glad to be of Service.

My answers kinda apply to both human and non-human pets. I think that when it comes to human "pet play" it's the same as having an animal pet.

What do you think a pet is?
I define a pet as another living creature that you care for and recieve no benefits from, other than companionship. Even then most pets are not the best at keeping you company. I guess pets can even be seen as a status symbol. You have the resources to take care of something and if it thrives you are proving...something. If that makes any sense. I think that humans can also be kept as pets, the only problem with it is that humans have too wide a range of emotions making things more complicated in a pet sort of relationship.

What do you understand about pets?
Never expect too much out of a pet. The only thing that is important is that your pet is healthy and happy.

Do you think it is ok to have a pet?
A human pet? Sure, but it's a major lifestyle change if you are really serious about it.

How should one treat a pet?
Just like that, a pet. You want your pet to live and be emotionally stable.

What is your responsibility as the pets owner(s)?
To train them and take responsibility for their actions.

What is your responsibitlity as the pet?
To thrive off of the attention and the hard work that your master puts into taking care of you.

Do you think it is a good idea to have a pet?
Only in the right circumstances.

What are pets for?
Pets there to care for.

Should there be a type of loving relationship with a pet?
There always should be, unless you don'tlove your pet. In the case that you don't love pet then you shouldn't haveone.

Should you make your pet do things, eg. Wear a collar so that others know that he/she belongs to you?
If you are a pet, but that is not your thing that the master should not puch it on you. However, there are other things you can do to show ownership.

How much of the Pet belongs to you?
The pet belongs to the master body and soul.

What type of pets are there?
That's too vague of a question.
