Inclusive- How Rosa does not feel towards making friends.

Seriously though, inclusive means to be general and include everything.

I don't feel like I could be friends with just anyone. :(

Don't worry, Rosa, no one can do that.  Even I have types of people I tend to...avoid.

Inclusive means including something.  It is usually used to describe something which includes all types, as opposed to something exclusive, which includes some types while excluding others.

While inclusive has a tangible definition, to me it means to not exclude before formulating my own opinion. One cannot like everyone, and being catholically inclusive is all but impossible. Thusly, to be inclusive is, in my book, to give someone a chance.

Includung
the word realy dosent have much meaning without some sort of modifyer to define or limit what is included.

unless that meaning is somehow implyed

example: to say the mcc church is inclusive realy does not mean much unless you have a general understanding that the church reaches out to persons  that are often excluded by mainstreem religon.

But wouldn't that mean that they are exclusive to those that are excluded by the mainstreem?

Yeah, I was about to get all snippity about how Catholics can also be inclusive, and then I was like, "Wait, she said 'catholic,' not 'Catholic.'"  Then I felt stupid.

Thank God for the "Modify" button.

in that example i think it is done for the curch shopper.
a lgbt person would likely catch the term and take a second look
a streght person may just skip over it and decide to attend.
if that same streight person had seen some other more descriptive term the may have skipped to another church.
please understand  all of this is pure speculation on my part and my only experiance with the MCC is a very breif look at their anchorage webpage but as i recall the term "inclusive" was used as a descriptive term, without any modifyer. It did catch my eye, but im not shopping.

just my humble opinion

LOL I supose. I also don't want to turn this discusion into one that is against or for mcc. LOL.
Inclusive to me, means you include everybody.

Like the Term Community. It maybe that I am just weird. But when I speak of the community I don't ever speak of the GLBTA community (that's  a specific community) I speak of The Whole Community. As in everybody.

So when I hear of an Inclusive Community, or Organizatin. I think they mean the Whole Community.

Glad to be of Service.

when you say something like inclusive community the unsaid implication is that there is there are those that are excluded

is my imagination or is  "inclusive community"  a redundancy?

i just wanted to illustrate  how the term was currently being used by some folks.
I hope i did not offend anyone.

it illustrates how the word has one meaning within one community and on the other hand  that meaning is lost in a wider culture.

so why were we defining this all inclusive term

When you say "everybody," who do you mean?  The people of MCC?  The people in Anchorage?  The people on the forum?

Generally, a community is relatively small when compared to, say, a population--there's a GLBT community, but a U.S. population.  Also, communities have to be unified in some way.  Some examples are the black community, the farming community, the straight-edge community.
