The Rev! long intro but tells alot about me

Well, where do I begin?

I was born in Bankstown, Australia. My mother was a single parent, my father died when I was just 3 months old. We lived in a small rural town called Gunnedah- it is not in the outback- but its getting pretty close out there.

I was 13 years old when I first went to church and have been going ever since. When I was 15 a woman prophesied that I would be a preacher. At 15 I preached my first sermon on a missions trip in Toronto, Canada. Ever since I have been preaching.

I married at 18, realized I was gay and divorced by 21. At 23 I was ordained as a minister of word and sacrament within the MCC. I worked as a youth pastor in MCC Sydney and ran the youth program for the National Council of Churches in Australia. This was a national position and saw me travel all over Asia and Australia. I loved that job and still miss it.

At 24 I came to Alaska to be the interim pastor of MCC Anchorage for 1 year. After just 6 months I wanted to stay longer than a year. I asked the board if they would accept me as their senior pastor and here I am almost 3 years later.

I am single, 6''1' and have put on a lot of weight here in AK. When my friends in Australia see pictures of me they tell me I am getting fat on all the bad american food

I love the summers here. I go camping and RVing, I am a member of the Alaska Yacht club. I also like to read and cook. I am an excellent wine taster, I used to work as a wine-guide in Australia as a way to get myself through Seminary. I like to watch DVD's and every now and then I like to go to a gay bar and hang out with friends. I have an alaska club membership but don''t go too often. I am addicted to musicals! I love to travel and will be taking a trip to the lower 48 in 3 weeks.

I am flying to LA, driving to Denver via the grand canyon and alberqueqe, flying to DC and then to NYC to see the musical- Avenue Q and then down to Miami!

What is waiting for me in the future?? I'm not sure. I know I will be in ministry for the rest of my life. I would like to gain the status of resident alien here in the US and stay longer here in Alaska and sometime in the future perhaps take a church in the South. I would also like to spend some time working in Asia- I absolutely love Asian culture, food and................ everything Asian!

Hello Rev. Johnathan,

   Was wondering if you have services during the week after 5pm.  My weekends consist of working due to being a full time student during the week.  Ive not met you yet but have heard good things about your church.  Looking forward in hearing from you soon.
